Frequently asked questions
Kasey and Korby and the openness. It’s the peace of mind knowing this space was purposely created for you, to do you, without judgement and to connect with other wonderful souls. What we offer is beyond the destination activities, decadent food, or the waterfalls - it’s the fact you are purposely choosing you. And we guaranteed laughter. Pinky Promise.
Hi, my name is Korby, and please please feel welcome. You have found safe people. We strongly encourage you to do you, whether that is solo inhaling a book in silence, entertaining a crowd with laughter, or whispering deep discussions in the corner. You choose exactly who you want. AND, we will respect your boundaries without question.
Yes please! Big encouragement to healthy relationships! Friendly reminder to make sure it is a healthy one :)
Plan for comfortable clothes, workout attire if desired, walking shoes, a reusable water bottle, and anything you’ll need to relax and enjoy your adventure. If you want to dress up for supper, bring dress up clothes. Sweatpants, pearls, or onesies - come however you wish.
Since we host at a facet of locations, each site location will be unique in rules, regulations, and what is offered. Perennial Roots is open to alcohol consumption, and it will either be provided, purchasable, and/or you will be allowed to bring your own. Please read the description of each retreat for detailed clarification.
Don’t do it. We won’t force you. We won’t beg you. We will not come find you. We will provide lots of fun options and encourage you to engage in what you desire. Only you know what is best for you.
We take unexpected life events into account and at the same time we are purposely anti refunds knowing our target audience is tailored towards women who have a pattern of canceling on themselves.
Our retreats are primarily all inclusive minus a traveling meal here or there. You will be informed of every detail in advance.
IFS is Internal Family Systems, a compassionate approach that helps you understand and connect with the different parts of yourself, increase self awareness, healing, and inner peace. IFS is Korby’s favorite methodology she uses as a Licensed Trauma Therapist to help people understand every part of themselves. If Korby is on the retreat, you will no doubt have a chance to learn as much as you want.
Kasey and I are doing our own thing. We are not going by a “schedule”. Wake when you want or stay up until 3am. Our schedules organically flows with ease by assessing what is needed in the here and now. For specific excursion times you will be informed well in advance.
Each retreat is unique, ranging from 8-30.
You cover your own flight and it is your responsibility to meet at the easily identified first location, often the venue, a motel, or airport. Food is included and if any meals aren’t covered you will be informed in the retreat descriptions. Massages, activities, and offered excursions will vary per retreat.
First come first serve to the solo rooms and shared rooms. You most often get to choose your exact room. Big love towards those shared rooms too - especially if you are taking applications for new friendship connections :)
Absolutely yes. Family reunions, rewarding corporate events, challenging group work, trauma retreats or celebrations - we are open to discussing all. And if we say no for any reason, ten bucks says we know quality people to refer you to.
Absolutely. We want you to feel nourished, comfortable, and cared for throughout your experience. You are required to inform us of any food allergies, dietary restrictions, or preferences when you register so we can do our best to accommodate your needs. Because meals may be prepared by outside vendors or retreat partners, we’ll communicate any limitations with you in advance.
Korby is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern in Hawaii. If the retreat is not in one of those states, she is openly eager to hold space as an educator. Keep a look out for the coveted and designated trauma-based retreats in Texas and Hawaii.
It means you don’t have to buy a whole new wardrobe, be the best version of yourself, have it figured out, be flexible, or “ready” for a retreat. Come tired, curious, joyful, overwhelmed, quiet, playful, or somewhere in between.
Absolutely, if availability allows. If a part of you needs additional time to settle in before the retreat or linger afterward, by all means lean into what your system is saying.
Let’s not “should on yourself”. Imagine accepting you with compassion no matter the feelings. Feeling lighter, more connected with yourself, more aware of your anger, clarity about something hard …. The goal isn’t to leave as someone ‘new’ … it's to be at home with yourself.
